Diridon Station’s Online Open House
Para español: Presentación de puertas abiertas sobre la Estación Diridon
Đối với tiếng Việt: Ngày hội trực tuyến về Ga Diridon
Welcome to the Future of Diridon Station’s online open house!
This open house is an opportunity for you to learn more about the long-term planning process for Diridon Station. Input that you share with us will be incorporated into two design alternatives. The goal will be to advance a single proposed design for environmental review in mid-2025. This open house includes five informational videos and five questionnaires for your input. Please provide your input and save your questions for the form at the bottom of the page.
Diridon Station is located on the western edge of Downtown San José. Notable nearby destinations include SAP Center and Cahill Park.
Live near Diridon Station or the tracks leading into the station? We have additional opportunities and information about the project to share. Please leave us a message at the end of the online open house and we will reach out directly!
How did we get here? Where are we going?
This video provides an overview of the recent Diridon Station planning process, as well as an update on what has been done since the conclusion of the Diridon Integrated Station Concept Plan (DISC) in 2020. This video also includes a timeline for input and decision making, as well as a preview of our next steps in the planning process.

+ Overviews of Both Alternatives
The videos in this section are “flythroughs” of both project alternatives put together by our engineering team. These videos are meant to give you a full picture of what the station can be transformed into through this design process. We ask that you watch these videos and provide feedback on the alternatives separately. To be clear, we are not asking you to vote for your favorite– instead we want to know more about your thoughts about each alternative’s features.
It’s important to note that both of these videos have the same introduction highlighting information about the planning process to date. If you would like to skip directly to information about the alternative, please skip to 1:06.
+ PERSPECTIVES OF BOTH ALTERNATIVES
This video provides an overview of the potential impacts to specific station features and street crossings for both alternatives compared to the station area today. Alternatives A and B in this video correspond to the alternatives you watched in the Alternatives Sections.
+ ELEMENTS OF THE HISTORIC STATION
This video explores potential changes to the historic station complex, including the station interior hall, entrance, and arrival platform. Feedback on these parts of the station will be incorporated into the design work for the station’s recommended design. Although it may not be featured in the photos, all design options will include new technology like real-time schedule displays.
+ COMMUNITY AND PASSENGER EXPERIENCE
You’ve gotten the chance to see a bird’s-eye view of the station area. As the flythrough videos showed, the new Diridon Station will include a variety of businesses, amenities, and areas for recreation. Some examples of what could be featured at Diridon Station include:
- Food businesses (like cafés, fast food, and restaurants)
- Retail businesses (places to buy clothing, groceries, convenience stores)
- Services (like child and animal care and laundry services, full service bike-station)
- Recreation (places to play, exercise, and enjoy yourself)
- Green space (small open spaces with trees, shrubs, and other features)
- Amenities (seating and tables, bathrooms)
Our goal is to create a safe, passenger-friendly station that is a destination in its own right, while also efficiently serving the many transit passengers who will be passing through Diridon Station on a daily basis.
